Dominican Republic starts antidumping probe on rebar imports from Costa Rica

The Dominican Republic’s commission of trade defense, CDC, has announced that it has started an antidumping duty investigation on reinforcing bar imports from Costa Rica. The investigation was initiated following a petition lodged by the local steelmaker Gerdau Metaldom. Ukraine starts antidumping investigation on certain steel bar imports from Moldova and Belarus

The Ukrainian Interdepartmental Commission on International Trade has announced that Ukraine’s Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has started an antidumping duty investigation on certain carbon and alloy steel bar imports from Moldova and Belarus. The investigation was launched following the application lodged by local steel producer ArcelorMittal Kryviy Rih. EU votes in favor of provisional safeguard measures

European Union voted on July 5th in favor of provisional measures against steel imports under the scope the safeguard investigation launched as a response to Section 232 tariffs in the US. The European Commission has proposed a combination of a quota and a tariff as expected. No deal: US puts tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from EU, Canada and Mexico

US commerce secretary Wilbur Ross has said that a 25 percent tariff on steel imports and a 10 percent tariff on aluminum imports from the EU, Canada and Mexico will go into effect at midnight, June 1.
