Javier Penacho

Javier Penacho was born in 1944. He was an Industrial Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.

Javier Penacho was linked with the steel industry first in UNESID in 1970. He was the Head of the Technical Department of UNESID, Unión de Empresas Siderúrgicas.

He served as the Head of the Studies Division of UNESID between 1974 and 1981.

 

Between 1981 and 1990 Penacho served as
General Director of SIDERINSA, Association of the Private Siderurgy,
Member of the Industry, Energy and Environment Commissions of the CEOE,
Secretary General of AEGE, Association of Companies with Large Energy Consumption.

Between 1990 and 1998 he served as
the President-General Director of SIDERINSA,
Member of the Industry, Energy and Environment Commissions of the CEOE
Member of the Advisory Committee of the European Coal and Steel Commission,
Secretary General of AEGE

Between 1998 and 2001 Penacho served as
the Deputy Director General of UNESID,
Member of the Industry, Energy and Environment Commissions of the CEOE
Member of the Consultative Committee of the European Coal and Steel Commission, until its dissolution,
Secretary General of AEGE,
Representative of the large industrial consumers in the Consultative Council of the National Energy Commission,
Member of the Advisory Council of the Catalan Energy Institute
Representative of AEGE in the Committee of Market Agents

And between 2001 and 2010 he served as
Executive Vice President and General Director of AEGE.
Member of the Industry, Energy and Environment Commissions of the CEOE.
Representative of the large industrial consumers in the Consultative Council of the National Energy Commission.
Member of the Advisory Council of the Catalan Energy Institute
Representative of AEGE in the Committee of Market Agents.
Representative of AEGE in the Board of Directors of IFIEC (International Federation of Industrial Energy Consumers)

Javier Penacho showed great generosity when he saw the need to integrate the steel industry associations. His last years of professional activity were dedicated with great brilliance to the management of AEGE, the association of large electric consumers.
