US issues CVD order on rebar imports from Algeria

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued a countervailing duty (CVD) order on steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Algeria, following the affirmative final determination published on March 27, 2026 that countervailable subsidies are being provided to producers and exporters of subject merchandise.

The net countervailable subsidy rate is 72.94 percent for Tosyali Iron Steel Industry Algeria SPA, the sole mandatory respondent, and 72.94 percent for all others. The rate is based on facts available with adverse inferences, as Tosyali did not participate in the investigation.

Because the US Trade Representative has determined that Algeria is not a Subsidies Agreement country, no material injury determination by the US International Trade Commission was required.

The ITC closed its investigation on May 18, 2026, and the DOC subsequently issued this order. The CVD order is applicable as of July 6, 2026, and was published in the Federal Register the same date.

US issues final results of CVD review on rebar imports from Turkey

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has released the final results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on steel concrete reinforcing bar (rebar) from Turkey for the period between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.

The DOC determined that Colakoglu Metalurji A.S. received countervailable subsidies during the period of review. The DOC has determined a net countervailable subsidy rate of 1.26 percent.

The preliminary rate was 1.84 percent. The rate was revised in the final results based on changes made to the subsidy rate calculation in response to comments received from interested parties.

Canada extends duties on rebar imports from China, S. Korea and Turkey

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal has decided to extend its trade remedy measures on imports of reinforcing bars from China, South Korea and Turkey following the completion of an expiry review.

The tribunal concluded that allowing the measures to expire would likely result in injury to Canada’s domestic rebar industry and therefore ordered their continuation. Under the decision, Canada will continue applying antidumping duties on reinforcing bar imports from China, South Korea and Turkey, and countervailing duties on rebar imports from China.

The current antidumping duties on rebar from the countries in question are at

26.6 percent for China,
25.1 percent for South Korea
6.5 percent for Turkey,

while subsidy rate is at 6.1 percent for China.

US issues final results of CVD sunset review on PC strand from Türkiye

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has issued the final results of the expedited first sunset review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on prestressed concrete steel wire strand (PC strand) from Türkiye, determining that revocation of the order would likely lead to continuation or recurrence of countervailable subsidies.

Net countervailable subsidy rates likely to prevail if the order were revoked are

68.74 percent for Celik Halat ve Tel San A.S.,
95.29 percent for Guney Celik Hasir ve Demir,
82.29 percent for all others.

The CVD order on PC strand from Türkiye was originally issued on February 3, 2021. The sunset review was initiated on January 2, 2026, and the final results were published on May 4, 2026.

US maintains AD/CVD order on rebar imports from Mexico and Turkey

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the final results of the sunset reviews of the antidumping duty (AD) order on reinforcing bar imports from Mexico and the countervailing duty (CVD) order on reinforcing bar imports from Turkey.

The DOC has determined that revocation of the antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on the given products from Mexico and Turkey would likely to lead to the continuation or reoccurrence of dumping, countervailable subsidies and material injury.

The estimated weighted-average dumping margin for Mexico are at 20.58 percent and 66.70 percent, while subsidy rates are 6.58 percent and 7.71 percent for Turkish companies.

The products subject to the orders are currently classifiable in the Harmonized Tariff Schedule of the United States (HTSUS) under subheadings 7213.10.0000, 7214.20.0000, and 7228.30.8010.

US assigns final CVD orders on rebar imports from Algeria

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the final results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty (CVD) order on rebar from Algeria.

The DOC found that countervailable subsidies were provided to producers and exporters of rebar from Algeria during the period of review from January 1, 2024, through December 31, 2024.

The final subsidy rate is at 72.94 percent only for Tosyali Iron Steel Industry Algeria SPA and all other Algerian exporters, in line with the preliminary determination.

US ITC votes to maintain duties on wire rod imports from five countries

The US International Trade Commission (ITC) has determined that revoking the existing antidumping duty order on wire rod from Brazil, Indonesia, Mexico, Moldova, and Trinidad and Tobago or the countervailing duty order on wire rod from Brazil would be likely to lead to continuation or recurrence of material injury within a reasonably foreseeable time. As a result of the ITC’s affirmative determination, the existing order on imports of this product from these countries will remain in place.

The weighted-average dumping margins stand at

74.35-94.73 percent for Brazil,
4.06 percent for Indonesia,
20.11 percent for Mexico,
369.10 percent for Moldova
11.40 percent for Trinidad and Tobago,

US maintains AD/CVD orders on steel wire rod imports from China

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the final results of the sunset review of the antidumping duty and countervailing duty orders on carbon and certain alloy steel wire rod (wire rod) from China.

The DOC has determined that revocation of the antidumping duty and the countervailing duty orders on wire rod from China would likely to lead to the continuation or reoccurrence of dumping and injury to the US industry.

The dumping margins are at 106.19 percent and 110.25 percent, while subsidy rates are at 178.46 percent, 185.89 percent and 193.31 percent for the country.

US issues preliminary results of CVD review on rebar from Turkey’s Colakoglu

The US Department of Commerce (DOC) has announced the preliminary results of the administrative review of the countervailing duty order on reinforcing bars imported from Turkey during the period of review between January 1, 2023, and December 31, 2023.

The DOC has preliminarily determined that countervailable subsidies are being provided to Colakoglu Metalurji A.S. during the period of review. The DOC has preliminarily calculated a net countervailable subsidy rate of 1.84 percent for the company. In addition, the DOC is rescinding this review with respect to Kaptan Demir Celik Endustrisi ve Ticaret A.S. and Kaptan Metal Dis Ticaret ve Nakliyat A.S. as local producers timely withdrew their request.
The final results of the review are expected to be announced within 120 days of the publication of the preliminary results.

Canada maintains AD/CVD orders on rebar imports from three countries

The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has completed the expiry review on the antidumping (AD) duty on reinforcing bar imports from China, South Korea and Turkey, and the expiry review of the countervailing duty (CVD) on the given product from China and has determined that the expiry of the order is likely to result in the continuation or resumption of dumping or subsidizing of such goods.

The current antidumping duties on reinforcing bar imported from the countries in question are at 26.6 percent for China, 25.1 percent for South Korea and 6.5 percent for Turkey, while subsidy rate is at 6.1 percent for China.

The Canadian International Trade Tribunal (CITT) will now conduct an inquiry to determine whether the expiry of its order is likely to result in injury to the Canadian industry and has announced that it will issue its decision no later than June 17, 2026.
